What is part 125
Operating requirements for air ops conducted by a holder of an airline air operator certificate issues in accordance with part 119 using a plane that has:
- Seating config of 10-30 seats or
- Payload capacity of up to 3410kg or less and a MTOW of greater then 5700kg or
- a single engine and is carrying passengers under IFR
What is part 121
The operating requirements for air operations conducted by a holder of an airline air operators certificate issued in accordance with part 119 using an aeroplane that has -
- a seating configuration of more then 30 seats, excluding any required crew member seat or
- a payload capacity of more then 3410kg
Describe the requirements to hold an aviation document as laid down in CA ACT 1990 S7. (36.2.2)
Flight crew license (ATPL,ppl,CPL). For a person to hold this document they must be fit and proper meaning no offences to NZTA and MOJ.
Describe the criteria for the fit and proper person test, as laid down in CA Act 1990 s10. (36.2.4) (7)
- compliance history with transport safety regulatory requirements.
- experience within the transport industry.
- Knowledge of the applicable civil aviation system regulatory requirements
- History of physical or mental illness or behavioural problems
- any conviction for a transport offence in NZ or overseas or the offence was committed before the act
- any evidence that the person has committed a transport safety offence or has a contravened or failed to comply with any rule in the act
Describe the duties of PIC (36.2.6)
PIC shall be responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft in flight, wellbeing of all pax and crew, safety of cargo carried.
They have final authority to control the aircraft while in command for the maintenance of disciple by all POB and responsible for following the act.
Describe the responsibilities of a license holder with respect to changes in their medical condition (36.2.8)
- Must advise the director of the change ASAP
- must not exercise the privileges of the medical
Describe the responsibilities of a license holder with respect to the surrender of a medical certificate.
Person who has their medical revoked, suspended or withdrawn must surrender the medical to the director, a person authorised by the director or police officer.
Describe the responsibilities of a license holder with respect to safety offences (36.2.12)
A person who commits any offence against CAA act 1990 is liable to fine or imprisonment.
