What is happening in mexico?

What are they doing to females?
Mexican companies are forcing employees to have pregnancy tests
Absence of pregnancy has become a condition of employment in many factories in the intense exporting zone
Since the costs were too high for the company
What are companies doing to violate womens right?
- Companies say this is due to women using company benefits for maternity instead of working a ‘true’ job
- However, women who have worked in the company for multiple years before pregnancy are still being forced out once they disclose it
Why are women favoured for maquiladoras?
Because they work in fear of sexual and verbal harassment from their managers, for almost no economical return.
- Less likely to complain, strike or oppose their managers
Why is it globalization not beneficial? (in a feminist POV)
Most people think that it is a good idea for companies to take their production in developing countries, because it provides jobs that weren’t there before, but really it gives the company an opportunity to have free economic reign and to exploit the workers
