Rx for edema associated with CHF

Dose
A
Initially 20-80 mg/dose may increase by 20-40 mg/dose q6-8 hrs

Side effects
A
Increase frequency & volume of urination
Lightheaded, dizzy, Nausea, heartburn, abd cramps, diahrrea, constipation, electrolyte disturbance

Anuria
Deafness
Ringing in ears
Vertigo

Check BP, pulse for hypotension Serum electrolytes Skin turgor Mucus membrane I& O Mental status
