- You can’t control exactly what you want to get
- It’s tedious and takes too long
- It might not be super accurate
What are two rules for comparing language samples?
- Match your task to the child and assessment purpose
- Make comparisons ONLY to other language samples of the same type

Complex sentences have greater clausal density - tells you the complexity of the kid’s syntax

What does TTR tell you?
Diversity of the words the child uses - how well can they use their vocab
What is WPM?
Words per minute
What does WPM tell you?
Overall fluency and how quickly the child can come up with ideas - processing speed
