Q

Cautions after landing with an emergency gear extension…..

A

When the emergency gear lever is raised, the right hydraulic system is isolated from the landing gear. As a consequence, alothough steering is avaiable in both directions, nose gear steering is limited in turn deflection to the left (No right push cylinder) even with both hydraulic systems opertating.

Stop Airplane on runway
Close and latch the main gear doors manually
Verify landing gear pins are installed prior to taxi and tow

Q

How is braking effected with a loss of both hydraulic systems (3)

A

Each main gear wheel is equipped with disc type brakes operated by two independent hydraulic brake systems

Both systems power each brake assembly

If both systems fail, each system is equipped with a accumulator of suffcient capacity to stop the airplane.
