Landing Gear Flashcards
When will the landing gear warning horn sound (2)
- With the flaps in the landing position without the gear down (cannot silence)
- Landing gear is not down and locked, airpseed below 210 and below 1200 feet (May be silenced)
What is the primary and secondary gear position indicator…..
Primary- Are the gear position lights
Secondary - Gear position indicator on the CONFIGURATION SYNOPTIC
What is the maximum brake tempature for takeoff without referring to the ODM (2)…..
- Brake tempature cannot exceed 115 c for airport up to 2,200ft MSL
- Temp is based on 120K pound aircraft and V1 OF 140 KTS.
After landing how much brake tempature differential can you have…..
60 c on the same gear is normal
How do you determine the parking brake is set…..
Press the brake pedals and lift the PARKING BRAKE knob and release the pedals.
What indications do you get when the parking brake is set…..
Parking brake on alert on EAD
Turn capabilites with nose gear steering wheel and rudder pedals….
Nose Gear Steering Wheel - Overrides the rudder pedal steering and provides up to82 degrees of turn in either direction.
Rudder pedals- Full deflection provides up to 17 degrees either direction.
Where is the Aircraft Ground Shift Sensing System located
Aircraft nose gear
Where is the Aircraft Ground Shift Sensing System located…..
Nose gear
What is the purpose of the aircraft ground shift sensing system
Singnals various airplanes systems as to if the airplane is in the air or on the ground.
What is the purpose of the gear handle release button…..
To raise the gear in the event of a failed ground shift sensor. Push and hold the button
Cautions after landing with an emergency gear extension…..
When the emergency gear lever is raised, the right hydraulic system is isolated from the landing gear. As a consequence, alothough steering is avaiable in both directions, nose gear steering is limited in turn deflection to the left (No right push cylinder) even with both hydraulic systems opertating.
Stop Airplane on runway
Close and latch the main gear doors manually
Verify landing gear pins are installed prior to taxi and tow
How is braking effected with a loss of both hydraulic systems (3)
Each main gear wheel is equipped with disc type brakes operated by two independent hydraulic brake systems
Both systems power each brake assembly
If both systems fail, each system is equipped with a accumulator of suffcient capacity to stop the airplane.
Antisid system features (4)
- Allows maximum wheel braking without skidding the tires
- Prevents brake application until after main wheel spinup
- Automatically disabled at low speeds
- Automatically tested when power is applied
ANTISKID Switch
ON
OFF
ON- Activates the ANTISKID SYSTEM
OFF- Deactivates ANTISKID SYSTEM
Antiskid off amber light indicates system is off not failure
