Land gear & Brakes Flashcards
How are the nose landing gear doors opened and closed?
The are hydraulically actuated and operate in sequence with the nose gear. AOM 2-12-05 page 3.
What keeps the nose landing gear doors closed after the gear is retracted?
Hydraulic system 1 pressure. AOM 2-12-05 page 3.
What does the Electrical Override system do?
It bypasses the LGEU and directly actuates the Landing Gear Electrovalve and the Nose Gear Doors Solenoid Valve. AOM 2-12-05 page 5.
How does the Free-Fall lever release the landing gear?
It mechanically unlocks the three landing gear legs uplocks and depressurizes the landing gear hydraulic lines. AOM 2-12-05 page 6.
A LG/LEVER DISAGREE Warning message occurs if any landing gear is not in the selected position after how many seconds?
20 seconds.
AOM 2-12-05 page 7
What protections does the normal braking system provide?
- Anti-skid protection
- locked wheel protection
- touchdown protection.
AOM 2-12-10 page 2.
Anti-skid protection is automatically provided above what wheel speed?
10 knots.
AOM 2-12-10 page 4.
Locked wheel protection is provided above what wheel speed?
30 knots
AOM 2-12-10 page 4
When does touchdown protection provide brake actuation?
Only after 3 seconds from the latest touchdown or after the wheels have spun-up to 50 kts. AOM 2-12-10 page 6
When the Emergency/Parking Brake handle is pulled, which hydraulic system pressure is used?
Hydraulic pressure from the system 2 accumulator. AOM 2-12-10 page 8.
A fully charged accumulator in hydraulic system 2 can provide how many actuations of the Emergency/Parking Brake handle?
The accumulator allows for 6 complete emergency actuations or at least 24 hours of parking brake actuation. AOM 2-12-10 page 8
On the MFD, the brake temperature scale and pointer are green below what temperature?
250°C. AOM 2-12-10 page 12.
The nosewheel steering system is electrically controlled and hydraulically operated by which hydraulic system?
Hydraulic system 1
AOM 2-12-15 page 1
When using the rudder pedals to control the steering, what is the maximum nose wheel displacement?
5°. AOM 2-12-15 page 1.
When using the steering handle only to control steering, what is the maximum nose wheel displacement?
71° AOM 2-12-15 page 1.
