what happens in descent?
-5 station to 0
foetus moves from pelvic inlet to ischial spines
leads to engagement
what happens in flexion?
chin against chest as reaches pelvic floor
what happens in internal rotation?
fetal shoulders rotate by 45 degrees
so widest part of shoulders = widest part of pelvic inlet
what happens in extension?
head passes under symphisis pubis
emerges from vagina
when does restitiution happen? what is it?
after delivery of head
