what is stage 1?
onset of labour –> cervix is fully dilated
what is stage 2?
full dilation –> delivery of the fetus
what is stage 3?
delivery of the fetus –> delivery of the placenta and membranes
how often is fetal heart rate monitored during labour?
every 15 mins
how often are contractions assessed?
every 30 mins
how often is maternal HR assessed in labour?
every 60 mins
how often are maternal BP and temp checked during labour?
every 4 hours
how often is a vaginal examination done during labour?
every 4 hours
how long does it typically take to become fully dilated in a primigravida?
10-16 hours
what is latent phase stage 1?
0-3cm dilation
how long does latent stage 1 last?
typically 6 hours
what is active phase stage 1?
3-10cm dilation
what rate do you expect a cervix to dilate in active stage 1?
1cm/hr
