Innervation: accessory nerve
Blood supply: transverse cervical
Antagonist: serratus anterior and latissimus dorsi
Latissimus dorsi
Action: extends and rotates the arm medically along with addiction of the arm
Innervation: thoracodorsal nerve
Blood supply: thoracodorsal artery
Antagonist: deltoid and trapezius
Rhomboideus major
Action: retract, elevate, and rotate scapula inferiorly
Innervation: dorsoscapular
Blood supply: dorsoscapular
Antagonist: serratus anterior
Rhomboideus minor
Action: retract, elevate, and rotate scapula inferiorly
Innervation: dorsoscapular
Blood supply: dorsoscapular
Antagonist: serratus anterior
Levator scapula
Action: elevate scapula
Innervation: dorsal scapular
Blood:dorsal scapular
Antagonist: latissimus dorsi, pectoralis major minor, serratus anterior
Serratus posterior superior
Action: elevate the upper rib
Innervation: T1-T4
Blood: posterior intercostals 1-4
Antagonist: serratus
Serratus posterior inferior
Action: depress ribs 9-12, may prevent lower ribs from being elevated when diaphragm contracts
Innervation: T9-T12
Blood: lowest posterior intercostal, subcostal, first two lumbar
Antagonist:
Iliocostalis
Action:extend and laterally bend the trunk and neck
Innervation: C4-S5
Blood supply: deep cervical, posterior intercostal, subcostal, lumbar
Antagonist: recurs abdominus
Longissimus
Action: extend and laterally bend the trunk neck and head
Innervation: C1-S1
Blood: deep cervical, posterior intercostal, subcostal, lumbar
Antagonist: rectus abdominus
Spinalis
Action: extends and laterally bends trunk and neck
Innervation:C2-L3
Blood: deep cervical, posterior intercostal, subcostal, lumbar
Antagonist: rectus abdominus
