Lab exam Flashcards
Triceps brachii insertion and origins
Long head - infraglenoid tubercle
Short (lateral) head - posterior surface of humerus (below radial sulcus)
Medical - same as lateral, but below the radial sulcus.
Insertion - olecranon process
Biceps brachii insertion and origins
Long head - (tendon in the intertubercular sulcus) Supraglenoid tubercle
short head - coracoid process of the scapula
Insertion - radial tuberosity and bicipital aponeurosis
Brachialis origin and insertion
Origin - anterior surface of humerus
insertion - coronoid process and the tuberosity of the ulna
Flexor digitorum superficialis origin and insertion
Origin: Medial epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: anterior margins on the bases of the middle phalanges
Flexor digitorum profundus origin and insertion
origin - medial surface of the ulna, interosseous membrane, and deep fascia of the forearm.
insertion - base of the distal phalanges of the fingers
flexor pollicis longus origin and insertion
Origin - volar surface of the radius
Insertion - base of the distal phalanx of the thumb
Extensor pollicis longus and brevis origin and insertion
longus: posterior surface of ulna, distal phalanx of thumb.
Brevis: radius, proximal phalanx
Where is the triangle of auscultation (between which three muscles)
on the back, teres maj., lat, rhomboid maj.
where is the quadrilateral or quadrangular space (between which muscles)
on the back of the proximal humerus. teres minor, teres maj, long head of triceps (medial), humerus (lateral)
there is some clear shit coming off of the conus medularis. what is it, what is it made of, and what does it do?
Internal terminal filum (filum terminale), made of pia mater, anchors the conus medularis to the inner aspect of the spinal dural sac.
What anchors to the lesser and greater tubercules of the humerus?
lesser - subscapularis
greater - teres minor and the supra + infra spinatus
Where is the deltopectoral triangle and what passes through it?
between the deltoid and pec maj, just under the clavicle.
cephalic vein passes through it. (comes off the axilary vein)
What supplies teres major and subscapulus?
Lower subscapular nerve
upper subscapular nerve is only for the subscapularis
What does the anterior interossius nerve innervate
Flexor pollicis longus, radial half of flexor digitorum profundus, pronator quadratus
