extends, adducts, and medially rotates arm, draws shoulder inferiorly
supraspinatus
abducts arm, helps stabilize shoulder joint
O - supraspinous fossa
I - greater tubercle of humerus
subscapularis
medially rotates arm, stabalizes shoulder joint
O - subscapular fossa
I - lesser tubercle of humerus
infraspinatus
laterally rotate arm, stabilizes shoulder joint
O - infraspinous fossa
I - greater tubercule of humerus
teres minor
laterally rotates and adducts arm, stabilizes shoulder joint
teres major
extends and medially rotates arm
external abdominal oblique
compresses abdominal wall, laterally rotates waist
internal abdominal oblique
compresses abdominal wall, laterally rotates waist
rectus abdominis
flexes vertebral column, compresses abdominal wall
external intercostals
elevates ribs (increases volume in thoracic cavity)
internal intercostals
depresses ribs (decreases volume in thoracic cavity)
