Q

what are the differences in male and female pelvises

A

the distance between the superior anterior ileac spines are greater in females.
AND the distance between ischial spines are greater in females.
These two differences result in female pelvises to have a larger inlet and outlet, which allows room for child birth.

The male coccyx curves inwards, occluding the outlet, while the female coccyx is straighter, leaving space in the outlet for child birth.

The pubic arch angle is wider in females by about 15 degrees.

All of the above differences result in female pelvises being generally wider and shallower than male pelvises, although male pelvic bones are generally thicker and denser to support heavier builds.
