How do you perform a bone marrow biopsy?

A

Position Patient
Clip and Prep
Sterile gloves (12cc syringe and 3cc syringe)
22g needle to 12cc
2ml EDTA and lidocaine
EDTA flush through bone marrow needle
Lidocaine block
stab incision
place needle on bone
rotate back and forth with pressure
Seated move to confirm
Remove stylet and add 12G suction marrow
Stylet back
In dish and swirl (spicules = good) - omn slide
