    • main brr. include:
      • vertebral a.
      • interior thoracic a.
      • thyrocervical trunk
      • constocervical trunk
    • becomes axillary a.

  • supplies 1/4 of the blood supply each (i.e. 1/2 total)
  • vulnerable to “dissection

  • R and L common carotid aa. supplies rest of head and neck and bifurcates to:
    • internal carotid a.
      • only supplies internal structures
      • doesn’t branch in neck
      • two ICA provide rest of brain blood supply
    • external carotid a.
      • does branch in neck
      • key brr. to viscera and other soft tissue
