What is oesophageal cancer?
A
- cancer in the oesophagus
-two types - SCC and ADC

What is ADC and what is its predispostion factor
A
- adenocarcinoma
- the factor is barret metaplasia where there is an excessive reflux of stomach acid into the oesphagus
- the straitified squqmous epithelium changes to columnar type epithelium

A
- hypergastrinaemia ( produces lots of acid )
- duodenual ulcers (acid overwhelming the duodenum
