When assessing socioeconomic status, what 5 factors are considered?
Occupation (job), Education (qualifications), Income (gross or net + individual or household), Living standards measure, Deprivation
This is an area based measure of deprivation. Usually areas with around ~100-200 people. This applies to everyone.
New Zealand Deprivation (NZDep)
What are the deciles in NZDep?
1=least deprived score, 10=most deprived score

This is defined by income level below which a minimum nutritionally adequate diet plus essential non-food requirements is not affordable. The amount of income a person, family, or group need to purchase an absolute amount of the basic necessities in life.
Absolute poverty
This is defined as the amount of income a person, family, or group needs to purchase a relative amount of basic necessities of life; these basic necessities are identified relative to each society and economy.
Relative poverty
These are the conditions in which people are bron, grow, live, work and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life.

Health is not distributed evenly in New Zealand because there are health disparities caused by ethnicity and socioeconomic status.
