kreb's cycle Flashcards
citric acid cycle starts with the molecule
oxaloacetate
net yield when we finish kreb’s cycle
3 NADH
FADH2
ATP and/or GTP
(x2 because we did 2 rounds of kreb’s)
with the help of this enzyme, we can turn oxaloacetate into citrate
citrate synthase
citrate will be converted into isocitrate with the help of
acontinase
isocitrate will turn into alpha-ketogluterate with the help of what enzyme
isocitrate dehydrogenase
this enzyme converts alpha-ketogluterate to succinyl-CoA
alpha ketoglutarate dehydrogenase complex
where does kreb’s cycle happen
mitochondrial matrix
alphaketo-glutarate is converted to succinyl-CoA with this enzyme
alphaketo-glutarate dehydrogenase complex
succinyl-CoA is converted to succinate with the help of
succinyl-CoA synthase
succinate will be helped by this enzyme to convert it to fumarate
succinate dehydrogenase
fumarate is converted into malate
fumarase
malate with the help of this enzyme will be converted into oxaloacetate
malate dehydrogenase
