Energy Body; the link between the physical body and the remaining layers of self; prana is the life force that materializes as the breath moving in and out- when we manipulate the breath we are making a conscious effort to direct energy flow (uniting mind, body, spirit.

What is Manomayakosha?
The Psycho- emotional body; mano means mind where the five senses live as well as the origin of thought and judgment- highly connected to the brain and nervous system- place where “I” and “mine” come from

What is Vijnayamayakosha?
Wisdom Body- the introspective place within us that allows us to develop deeper insights into our being and the world around us. Still highly related to the physical body because it is capable of change and cognitive engagement- memories, ego, identity still very much present
Could be addressed by practicing blindfolded

What is Anandamayakosha?
Bliss- the state of self or consciousness which is everpresent- the Upanishads called it the “causal body”- a reflection of the divine- found in moments of ultimate peace and equanimity.
Can only be experienced once we are able to release the phantasms of the previous four layers. in fleeting moments of joy and peace, we are no longer our body or our mind; we are what remains- Our True Self
