What did Joseph McCarthy do?
He created a climate of fear. He said Truman is weak on communism. The result was mass paranoia created by the apparent spread of communism was that US foreign policy was forced to shift to a more aggressive model.
How did US and USSR not agree?
They couldn’t come to any agreement to how the peninsula would be reunited
Why did Stalin support Kim Il Sung?
Only reluctantly for fear of loosing status as the leader of the communist world. China was now a rival for the title of leader of the communist world. He wanted to disguise soviet involvement at all costs.
What did Truman do instead of acting on his own?
He went to the UN. UN condemned the attack and orders armed force against the aggression. The USSR temporarily boycotted the UN over China, so they couldn’t veto he decision.
