what are the normal and suplemental knee views
normal- AP, Lateral
Additional- Tunnel, tangental, obliques
what does the tunnel view assess (what side is the popliteal groove on)
assesses the intercondylar space (looks for loose bodies in it)
- higher intercondyler fossa than in an AP view
-popliteal groove on lat side
in the tangental view what side will be more steep
medial
What are the normal ankle views
AP, medial oblique, lateral
How do u take a medial oblique and what can you see better
-In this view you internally rotate foot so you can bettter see joint spaces all around
Where is the sinus tarsi located andd what view can it be seen in
- space bw talus and calcaneus
- lat side of tarsus and is distal to lat maleolus (seen on med oblique)
Boehlers Angle (whats normal and how do u measure it)
20-40 degrees in normal (<28 abnormal)
-draw a line from mid calcaneal aspect to post, then line from middle calcaneal aspect to ant aspect
Normal views for ankle
Dorsoplantar, Medial oblique, lateral
heal pad thickness (where is it meassured from and what are the normal values)
-measured @ shortest distance b/w plantar surface of calcaneous and external surface of heal
-women= <23mm
-men= <25mm
avg= 20mm
