A
Inittially
- Prevent pulmonary and vascualr complications
- Prevent loss of knee and hip musculature
- Regain Knee ROM
Progresses
- increase strength, endurance of the knee and hip
- Continue to increase ROM
- Imrpove standing knee balance
ROM goals
- 0-120 knee flex by the first 8-12 wks
- full kne ext by 8-12 wks
Exercise examples
- LAQ, SAQ, SLR
- Heel slides, Sitting knee flex, Prone knee flex
- Slow stationary bike, Rocking chair, stair climbing
- Balance activities, aquatic therapy
