Before touching food, after using the restroom, after touching any part of your body, and when switching from working with meat to veggies and vice versa

Destroys germs and prevents cross contamination
How should you wash your hands?
For 20 seconds, with soap and warm water
How should you clean equipment?
Use soap and hot water, the hotter the better, wash and clean as you go, rinse in hot water and soap, spray with sanitizer liquid and allow to air dry
What are rules for cooking while sick?
NEVER cook while sick. If you have a sneeze or cough, do it into your elbow or turn head.
What should you wear, and what should you do with your hair?
Wear covered shoes and pants. Tie back hair. Remove bracelets and loose jewelry. Wear an apron, but make sure to take off apron to use restroom.
When should you use gloves?
When hands can’t be washed or preparing food for other people
Do you need to switch gloves in between food?
Yes, to prevent cross contamination
What are some forms of communication to use?

Where should the pot handle be turned when using a stove?
Inward, towards the middle
What are some basic rules near the stove
Never assume a pot is cool, use mitts and pot holders, never leave food unattended, be careful uncovering a pot, double check that all burners are off.
