Q

What is the course of urine in the kidenys?

A

From collecting duct of nephron it goes into the pyramids which trains into 2-3 minor calyces which drain into the 2-3 major calyces. These drain into the renal pelvis which drains into the ureter which goes to the bladder.

16
Q

What happens in collecting duct?

A

Water and ion reabsorption. It controls the volume and concentration of the produced urine.

17
Q

What makes the collecting duct more permeable to water?

A

ADH

18
Q

What is the major blood supply to the kidneys?

A

The renal arteries which branch off the abdominal aorta below level L1.

19
Q

What is the name of the blood supply around the loop of Henle?

A

Vasa Recta

20
Q

What do the renal veins empty in to?

A

The inferior vena cava
