What are the features of a shanty town/kibera
Many houses/sheds made out of scrap metal, nice and vibrant communities despite the hardship, poor infrastructure and services, many houses without toilets, people have to go to the loo on the street which can lead to cholera or HIV, there are 1.5 million people living there

The government owns all the land in kibera 10% of people are shack owners many own others and let them out their remaining 90% are residents with no rights

Average size shack 12x12 ft built by mud walls tin roof and a dirt or concrete floor which cost £6 per month which house up to 8 people

Most of kibera has no toilets one latrine is shred by up to 50 shacks young boys are employed to empty it into the river
What is wrong with the water
Until recently kibera has had no water and it had to be collected from the Nairobi ram which is not clean and can cause typhoid and cholera

Kibera has no government clinics or hospitals they are provided by charities
What is wrong with drugs
Cheap drugs and sniffing glue are a problem once taken to avoid bordering but then get themselves hooked
