Key Words For All Lessons Flashcards
What does Static Charge mean?
static charge is a charge that is not flowing
What does the word ‘conductor’ mean?
A conductor is an object or substance that allows electricity to pass through it
What does the word ‘insulator’ mean?
An insulator is an object or substance that does not allow electricity to pass through
What is an ‘electrostatic field’?
An electrostatic field is the area for where the electricity can reach.
What does it mean by ‘positively’ or ‘negatively’ charged? What is like this?
Protons have a positive charge, and electrons have a negative charge.
What are the ‘symbols’ when displaying an electric current model?
Symbols are how you show the objects used in it. For example, a bulb is shown as a circle with a cross inside of it.
What is an ‘Ammeter’?
An ammeter is an object that measures current.
What are the ‘components’ in electricity?
The components are the things being used to make the circuit
What is a ‘voltmeter’?
A voltmeter is an object that measures the voltage
What is ‘voltage’?
Voltage is a measurement of the size of a ‘push’ that causes the current to flow around a circuit. Voltage is basically what makes the charge move.
What does it mean by ‘resistance’ in electricity?
The resistance in electricity flows the opposite way of the current. It helps preventing too much charge from going to the other end of the circuit from the battery.
