species
A group of organisms of a single species, interbreeding and occupying a particular habitat
community
Interacting populations of two or more species in the same habitat at the same time
ecosystem
A balanced biological system where all the organisms (community) and the non living components interact in a particular location. There is energy flow and nutrient cycling within the ecosystem

The place where an organism lives
niche
The role and position of an organism within its environment, including all the interaction with the biotic and abiotic factors of it’s environment

The study of the relationships between living organisms (including humans) and there physical environment

The factors in a habitat which affect an organism - both living & non living

abiotic

population
a group of organisms which share a large number of common characteristics and which can interbreed to produce fertile offspring

the number of species and individuals of each species in a given place at a given time
endangered
species at risk of extinction

a species with no living members
biomass
the mass of biological material in living or recently living organisms
