Social influence
Process by which individuals and groups change each others attitudes and behaviours
Conformity
Change in persons behaviour/opinions as result of real/ imagined pressure from person/group
Social roles
Parts were play as members of various social groups. Roles accompanied by expectations we and others have what is appropriate behaviour in each role
Obedience
Form of social influence in which an individual follows a direct order
Resistance to social influence
Ability of people to withstand social pressures to conform/obey authority
Minority influence
Form of social influence in which minority persuades smothers to adopt their beliefs, attitudes, behaviours
Social change
Occurs when whole societies rather than just individuals adopt new attitudes, beliefs, ways of doing things
