A
- lowest level of conformity
- follow other as to gain approval / avoid disapproval
- change is superficial + often stops when group pressure stops
- copy behav publicity, don’t change beliefs privately

A
- middle level of conformity
- conform to opinions / behav of group bc something ab group we value
- identify with group + want to be apart of it
- publicly change to be accepted even if don’t privately agree

A
- deepest level of conformity
- follow others bc believe their point of view correct
- have accepted and internalised their beliefs

What is Informational social influence ?
A
- looking to others for right info
- uncertain about behav/ belief right/wrong. Likely go with group consensus
- want to be right= follow majority
- likely occur when n new situation do don’t know what right.

- wanting to be liked/ part of group
- want to seem normal- new situations, want to gain approval
- occurs with strangers when scared of rejection + with friends as concerned about social approval
