What does Tzedakah entail?
Charity
How does Tzedakah bring Jews closer to God? [2]
One of the conditions of God’s gift is that we ourselves give. That way we too become like God, walking in his ways as by doing good we become good and by acting out of love.
We honour His image in other people and that we heal the fractures in the world- Healing the world
What can the acts of Tzedakah bring? [3]
• These acts can create possibilities for others, soften rough edges of the world and alleviate pain and poverty
What does Tikkun Olam mean?
To repair or heal the world
What reponsibilty do humans have?
- To heal or restore and change the world
What can Tikkun Olam bring?
The more people that practise Tikkun Olam, the more the world is repaired and they become nearer to the Messianic Age
What helps Tikkun Olam?
The mitzvot as they encourage Jews to work individually and collectively to make the world better. It would also inspire others to live the same way
What is justice?
Bringing about what is right and fair, according to the law or making up for a wrong that has been committed
What does God judge based on?
God judges everyone based on their actions, behaviours and beliefs.
Why was the Torah brough/sent?
Sent by God to help people understand and bring a bout justice in a way that demonstrated mercy. Along with guidance on the treatment of the poor and vulnerable so that justice can be achieved for them as well as the for the rich and powerful
