A future time of global peace when everyone will want to become closer to God, possibly through the intervention of the Messiah.
Who is the Messiah?
A leader of the Jews who is expected to live on Earth at some time in the future
What will happen in the messianic age?
The dead will be resurrected and war will end and people will live in universal peace and harmony
What do the orthdox Jews believe the Messiah will be like?
- Fully human
- He will be a warrior
- The Messiah will become the redeemer and will rule over all humanity with kindness and justice.
What will the messiah carry out?
- He will uphold the law of the Torah and will be the ultimate teacher of it.
- He will rebuild the temple in Jerusalem and gather all the Jews
What do Reform Jews believe about the messiah?
There is no messiah.
How do reform Jews believe the messianic age will come?
It is achieved through people’s collective actions.
We should all work together to achieve that peace
