• God created a “good” entire world
• This world rejected God’s authority (Adam and Eve eating the apple)
• So God punished His world (Expelled Adam and Eve from the garden)
• Yet people continued to reject his authority

• God chose Abraham and his descendants to establish a covenant relationship with
• They have been chosen by G-d to practise G-d’s ideal standard of ethical human behaviour, based on the mitzvot
• And to represent all mankind in the quest for redemption

• God gave Moses 613 ‘Mitzvot’

- Jews cannot have any other god

• To protect his people
• The promised land – Israel
• Eventually he will send a ‘Messiah’
