A

The talk test is a simple way to measure relative intensity. In general, if you’re doing moderate-intensity activity, you can talk but not sing during the activity. however when completing vigorous-intensity an individual will not be able to say more than few words without pausing.

Q

Rating of perceived exertion (RPE)

Perceived exertion is how hard you feel like your body is working. It is based on the physical sensations a person experiences during physical activity, including increased heart rate, increased respiration or breathing rate, increased sweating, and muscle fatigue.

18
Q

Metabolic Equivalent

A

Measure your heart rate during an activity and divide by your maximum heart rate, which is 220 minus your age. Then multiply by 100.
