Ketorolac Advantages
Decrease post-operative opioid requirements
Low incidence of nausea and vomiting
Lack of respiratory depression
Ketorolac Ortho Considerations
Bone healing delays by NSAIDs, not used in ortho surgery, OK with stable and healing fracture
Ketorolac Respiraotry Considerations
Caution in patients with asthma r/t bronchoconstriction d/t decrease leukotriene productions
Ketorolac Renal Considerations
Caution in patients with renal disease r/t renal vasoconstriction d/t decrease prostaglandin production
Ketorolac Neurosurgery Considerations
Bleeding risk in intracranial surgery
