John Locke was an empiricist
-Said that people taste, smell, touch, see, and hear the external world
-Stated that the mind was a blank state until a sense experience occurred
-The term “sensation” describes our experience of the world.

This sensation produces a impression on the mind. The mind thinks about these impressions- called reflection
