Conditions of Jihad Quotes

Jihad bin Nafs
- inner fight against evil
- internal fight against satan
- fulfilling Allah’s commands
- sincerity of faith
Jihad bil lisan
- upholding the truth & speaking against injustice
- teaching good
- presenting/preaching +” you are the best of people….”
- best Jihad is (ProphetSAW) “a word of truth spoken in front of an oppressive ruler”
Jihad of knowldege and Jihad of hand
Jihad bil Qalam/ilm
-scholarly research
-writing and publishing to remove misconceptions and lies
+hadith “the ink of a scholar is holier than the blood of a martyr”
Jihad bil Yad
-physical action, not words
-overlaps with zakat and hajj
-giving charity, helping others, saving lives, performing Umrah
+“a person whose feet become dust ridden by striving in the way of Allah shall never be touched by the flames of hell”
Armed Jihad:
Jihad bis saif (by the sword)
- Qital fi Sabihlillah (armed fighting in the way of Allah)
- Qital (physical combat) is restricted
-only when there is no other option and Muslims are endangered
+“And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and in the cause of those, who being weak are ill-treated, and their cry is ‘Our Lord! free us of this village hose people are oppressors and raise from us one who will help”
-Muslims should seek peace when the enemy surrenders

-do not turn away from pagans who seek peace
