South Carolina feels tarrifs hurt trade through Charleston
Call them the 1828 tarrif of abominations
South Carolina is threatening to succeed
Calhoun convinces them not to and suggests another solution - Nullification

Part of the act states that the tribes must agree to move west but the Govt appoints the Treaty Chiefs

Blackhawk War
-Chief who was moved from Illinois to Wisconsin refuses to move any further
-Illinois militia forms and ends up removing them from Wisconsin
2nd Seminole Indian War
-Osceola and Seminoles fight US military
-Driven into Everglades where they hold out for 7 years and still live today
Trail of Tears
-Majority of Cherokee tribe forced westward during winter where many die
-Some hold out in the Smokey Mountains where the still live today
Bank War
2 factions
-Hard money people don’t like bank making paper money and giving credit
-Loose money people don’t like the banks having so much power
Jackson does not like national bank system and wants to get rid of it
-Calls treasury and tells them to pull all the Federal money
-1836 Bank Charter will end
