interventions for ITP
soft padded helmet
IVIG suppresses immune response = increased platelets
bone marrow biopsy to rule out leukemia
nurs interventions when giving IVIG
vitals before admin start slowly for 1st 15 min monitor frequently 8-12 hour infusions pre-medicate with Benadryl/Tylenol
Medication mgmt for ITP
anti-d antibody (not with splenectomy)
prednisone
platelet transfusion
avoid these drugs with ITP
ASA and NSAIDS
