Late harvest in Italian
Inivi delle Dolomiti IGT
IGT for both Trentino and Alto-Adige
Lagrein
- Rustic native black variety in Trentino
- Can be low yielding due to bad fruit set
- If not careful it can have a bitter and harsh aftertaste
- Need full sun exposure to reach full ripeness
- Makes both red (rubino/dunkel) and rosé (rosato/kretzer)
Moscato Rosa
- Rose-scented member of the Muscat family in Trentino
- Makes a premiumly priced appassimento sweet wine of late harvest fruit
Schiava
- A collection of four different black varieties grown in Alto-Adige, Trentino, Austria and Germany (known as Trollinger)
- Pale ruby with perfumed violet and strawberry
- Medium to light body and light tannins
- Can be blended with Lagrein in Santa Magdalena DOC (-15%)
Corvina
- Productive and vigorous
- First few buds sterile, so good with pergola
- Thick skinned good for drying, but still prone to fungal diseases
- Mid/late ripening
- Violet and red cherry, herbal with low-med tannins and high acidity
Corvinone
- “Big Corvina” but unrelated
- Prone to mildew and uneven ripener between bunches
- Dries well
- Provides tannins and red cherry
Rondinella
- Productive variety for bulking up the volume
- Good diseases resistance and good for drying
- Light simple cherry fruit
Molinara
- Productive variety
- Less popular recently as its colour is too light
- High acidity
- Light bodied
- Red berry fruits
Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC
- Added 2017 replacing IGP
- Fruits can come from Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and southern Trentino-Alto Adige
