Isometrics, Perspective, and Oblique Drawing Flashcards

1
Q

What is Isometric Drawing?

A

Came from the two words; Iso-equal and metrum- to measure. Consists of 3 axes, one of which is vertical and the other two drawn to the right and left angle of 30 degrees to the horizontal.

Q

What is Oblique Drawing?

A

It resembles an Isometric drawing except that one face is parallel to the plane of projection, and the front is similar to the view as it would appear in a multi-view drawing. Two axes of an oblique drawing are always at the right angles to each other and the third or cross-axis maybe at any angle to each other and the third or cross the horizontal planes, 30 or 45 degrees are generally used.

What is Cavalier?

A

Receding lines are drawn at angle of 45 degrees and are measured in their dimensions.

Q

What is Perspective Drawing?

A

Is a pictorial view seen by the observer’s eyes. It is the representation of an object as it appears to an observer stationed at a particular position relative to the object. It is an approximate representation.

Q

What is plane?

A

An imaginary flat surface which has length and width but no thickness. It may extend indefinitely in any direction.

16
Q

What is Vanishing point (VP)?

A

The point where all lines seem to meet.

17
Q

What are the two Types of Perspective drawing?

A

Parallel or One-point Perspective and Angular Perspective.

18
Q

What is Parallel or One-point Perspective?

A

One of the principal surfaces of the object is drawn parallel to the picture plane. Has only one vanishing point which is usually located on the horizon or eye level and directly at the center of vision of the observer.

19
Q

What is Angular Perspective?

A

no surfaces of the object is parallel to the picture plane. It has two vanishing points usually located in the horizon or eye level.

20
Q

What are the various positions of Parallel and Angular perspectives?

A

Worm’s eye view, Man’s eye view, and Bird’s eye view.
