What happens when you get 24v Convert Fault?
One or more 110v-24v converter not operating
Lose function of 24vDC equipment
If all 3 on 3 car unit, or all 6 on 6 car unit fail all 24vDC equipment will fail
What do you do if you get 24v Convert Fault light?
Check operation of following and book anything that isn’t working:
Low Beam Headlights*
Drivers seat adjustment*
Marker lights*
Speedo
Windscreen Wiper/Washer*
Voltmeter
MAD button
Cab Spotlight
CCTV
External Brake Indicator lights
What do you do if DTRS fails?
Deactivate Cab
TRIP and RESET DTRS CB
Activate cab
Enter TDN
Radio Test (849801)
TMM
What do you do if you can’t reset DTRS?
Inset portable radio
Deactivate cab
Trip DTRS (don’t RESET)
Reactivate cab
Portable radio will now become primary radio and will not charge
TMM
When auto announcements fail what do you need to let passengers know?
Junction Stations
Express Running
Terminal Stations
What do you check if you get a ‘Major Fault’ light and an ‘Emergency Brake Applied’ fault light?
Check Safety Loop CBs - 23Q1 & 23Q2 and attempt to reset
What do you check if you get a ‘Major Fault’ light, a ‘Service Brake Fault’ light and a 1 Or More Brake Eq. Fault’ light?
EMS to No. 1 (online Holding Brake inhibit)
Release and immediately reapply Brake.
Danger of rolling while doing this.
If you get a ‘Traction Fault’ and ‘1 Or More Traction Eq. Fault’ what other indications will you get of traction fault in leading car?
No Traction Amps on Ammeter
If a speed probe fault if present there will be shuddering up to 3kph - then it will clear
If shuddering doesn’t clear, bring train to stand so it can be automatically isolated.
What do you do if you get a ‘Service Brake Fault’ and a ‘1 or more Brake Eq. Fault’?
EMS to No. 1 (online holding brake inhibit)
Release brakes then immediately reapply
Turn Safety Loop bypass switch to TEST for 10 seconds
If fault not cleared, train STABLE
What do you do if you get a ‘Parking Brake Applied’ fault light?
If train rolling normally, book fault and remove train from service
If train sluggish, check for smoke, smell other signs
Check for air leaks
Drain Aux. Res. and release SPBs, and isolate bogies
Operate train as per isolated bogies
