Anarchism

A

The people feel that public government has little or no functional authority. Anarchists believe that all public governments conflict with personal liberty and are unnecessary. They would get rid of all public governments and let only individuals and private groups govern the activities of a country.

A

Demand total loyalty. A small group of people run the country. They put down all opposition and try to make the people believe that the state is all important and the individual has little freedom. use force, the threat of force or terrorism to maintain the control of people.

Pluralism

A

Groups representing business, farming, labour, ethnic or racial segments of society work with government to develop policies that benefit them. The different groups put pressure on each other and on the public government so that a single group cannot dominate. Freedom for the individual is the most important aspect.

A

People govern themselves. They make the laws for their community together. Large communities elect fellow citizens to represent them in making laws. People have almost unlimited opportunities to make the government truly representative. People vote in secret.

Communism

A

The government is tightly controlled by a small group very few have a voice in what government does or says. there is no freedom choosing a leader during voting. Ballots are casts for communist candidates only. There are no rival political parties; the people are not allowed to form them. All publications, radio, televisions etc with restrictions on what may be said or spoken.

A

A basic set of laws which the people are governed. Outlines the form of government and rightd. The most important part of the constitution is the part that indicates the governments goals and purpose

Monarchy

A

A form of government in which the head of state inherits or is elected to a throne for a lifetime. Monarchs have various names such as king queen or prince. Years ago the monarchs power was absolute and he or she was responsible only to God. Today a monarchs duties are largely symbolic or ceremonial.

Dictatorship

A

A system in government in which the rulers have no legal restrictions on their power. A dictator never has to have the approval of the people when he wants to make laws or change them. A dictator has exclusive control over the government. Most dictatorships are acquired through violence, force and political trickery and continual force.
