Intro to the 12-lead EKG interpretation Flashcards
bipolar
I, II, III, avF, aVL, aVR
unipolar
V1-V6
septal wall and RV
V1&V2
anterior surface of the heart
V3& V4
LV
V5 & V6
inferior portion of the heart
II, III, avF
high lateral portion of the heart
I, aVL
Normal QRS axis –
positive I and II, negative III
L.A.D –
positive I, negative II, negative III
R.A.D –
negative I, negative II, positive III
Left bundle branch block –
Away from V1 and toward V6, widended QRS
Right bundle branch block –
Towards V1 and Towards V6, widened QRS
Distinguish right and left ventricular hypertrophy on the ECG
Hypertrophy – more conduction, thus more voltage on ekg. V5,6 have greater voltage in left ventricular hypertrophy. V1,2 greater voltage in right ventricular hypertrophy
identifiy the EKG findings in acute coronary syndromes and pericarditis
inverted T waves
