What are the 3 properties of real numbers
- Commutative Properties
- Associative Properties
- Distributive Properties
What is commutative
Changing the order of the operands does not change the end result. Number order not important
What are associative properties
Within an expression containing two or more occurrences in a row of the same operator, the order in which the operation are performed does not matter as long as the sequence of the operands is not changed
What is distributive property
If a number is multiplied by numbers in brackets, we need to multiply each number in the bracket by the number outside of the brackets
