AC Power
Alternating Current; AC’s current flow changes between positive and negative because of electrons - electrical currents come from the flow of these electrons, which can move in either a positive (upwards) or negative (downward) direction. This is known as the sinusoidal AC wave, and this wave is caused when alternators at power plants create AC power.

MV
Medium Voltage
N
represents the ‘need’ of the critical load; this is the minimum power cooling needed to support critical load.
N+1
A configuration in which an “extra” back-up unit supports two or more of the same primary units. for example, if two generators were required to support a datacenter, an N+1 configuration would include a third generator to serve as a back-up unit in the event either of the primary generators were to fail.
O&M
Operation and Maintenance
Panelboard
Mounting enclosure for multiple circuit breakers
PBB
Power-Base Building; refers to the shell and non-critical areas of a data center facility.
PDU
Power Distribution Unit; Receives and transforms 480V, 3 phase power to 120/208, 3 phase power and contains multiple output distribution points.
