Dry cow and lactating cow products

For lactating cows, what are the two classes of drugs that we currently have available for IMM products?
A
Penicillins and cephalosporins
Doesn’t give us much choice if we’re looking to change up the protocol or have a suspicion of resistance
Used to have macrolide products, but those haven’t been on the market in a while

What are the major differences between dry and lactating cow treatments?
A
The size of the salt the drug is attached to (bigger sticks around longer - dry cow)
