tell me about yourself

A

i’m sasha, i’m about to finish year 12 and i’m looking for my first job to gain valuable work experience. i’m hardworking and i have excellent communication skills which i have developed with playing and captaining team sports for over 10 years. i also am just about to complete a cert2 in hospitality where i have had lots of practice with customer service and the making of coffees and learnt how to work effectively with others and effective ways to deal with customers.

A

i believe working at maccas will help me develop great customer service skills and enhance my ability to work in fast paced environment. on top of this, i appreciate and agree with mcdonald’s value of community and involvement with giving back.

how would you deal with a difficult customer

A

i believe keeping calm is the most important factor when dealing with a difficult customer. in addition, i would make sure i thoroughly understand their concerns and why they feel this way and offer as many solutions as i can so they can have choices. if the situation were to get worse, i would ask a manager or person in charge to help me resolve the issue.

how do you handle working under pressure

A

i have found myself in many high stress or pressure situations and i handle them very well. to do this, i prioritise the most important tasks and then work my way down. i also make sure i maintain open communication with my team so i can help others is they need and get assistance if i need it too.

A

i believe a positive work environment is key to great customer service. respecting others working together in a team will help goals become achieved. i would love to contribute to an environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe to ask for assistance and feels they are a valued member of the team.

how would you handle a situation where you made a mistake

A

i would make sure i take full responsibility for my actions and inform a manager. using integrity when trying to correct my mistake will help myself and others learn from it and ensure it doesn’t happen again in the future.

how do you prioritise tasks when there are multiple responsibilities

A

i would use a similar method i use to work under pressure. that being to stay calm and organised and prioritise the more important tasks. to complete the tasks more efficiently if i needed to, i would ask my team for assistance and set different members certaine tasks.

A

i always view constructive criticism as a way to grow and learn and become better in my role so i can contribute to the team even more positively.

A

doing everything you possibly can to ensure the customer has the more positive experience. greeting them with a smile, being patient, listening to their needs and treating all customers with respect will contribute to great customer service.

what are your weaknesses

A

time management - sometimes i focus too much on making sure a complete a task to perfection and that can put me behind time in the long run. to combat this i set my self a certain amount of time that will allow me to complete a task to a very good standard but not give me so much time to fuss over it so i can move on quicker.
