What is interstitial nephritis?

this is inflammation of the interstitium of the kidneys - between the cells and tubules.

what is the cause of acute interstitial nephritis?
A
Acute kidney injury, hypersensitivity (to drugs - NSAIDs, antibiotics, or infection).

What are other signs of acute interstitial nephritis?
A
Rash, eosinophilia, fever.

What is the cause of chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis?
A
Chronic kidney disease.

What is the treatment for both acute and chronic interstitial nephritis?
A
Steroids.
