Iron, vitamin C and folic acid

A
  • when ferric iron is eaten not a lot is absorbed
  • vitamin c changes ferric iron to more absorbable ferrous iron
  • as more iron absorbed this ensures adequate red blood cell count so oxygen circulate body
  • if iron is lacking folic acid can step in and improve red blood cell count
