A
- help support consumers by providing information such as hygiene ratings for local cafes/restaurant
- they provide information on healthy eating
- they give advice on food safety and help to educate consumer on how to eat safely

- EHO’s can enter any food premises to check on food hygiene
- Officers can inspect food, seize it or condemn it
- They issue improvement notices if a business is not complying with food regulation. If there is an imminent danger to health they issue an emergency prohibition notice
- provide training and advice to all food premises

- can enter food premises and inspect goods to make sure there are no counterfeit products
- test the weighing and measuring equipment are accurate to prevent consumers receiving weights incorrect weights
- provide advice food businesses to ensure they comply with the law on food labelling and advertising

- Campaign on behalf of consumer rights, eg fake reviews
- they research to find the best value supermarkets
