  • 32 bit form in 000.000.000.0
  • Identifies location whereas MAC identifies device type
  • Can change, MAC cannot
  • Can be static (Choose not to change)
  • Can be dynamic (changes everytime)
  • Used in place of URL
  • Allocated by ISP
